new year in singapore

it all started when ela asked when are we coming over to visit them in singapore.  she texted oliver and april, cc: mom and dad, suggesting that their parents sponsor the trip.

mom and dad started asking our availability during the holiday season so they could book the trip the soonest, as fares are sky-rocketting as the season draws closer.

i said i was the last to confirm because i wanted to give priority to oliver and april because they are the ones who need to check out their availability first.

oliver is off from school starting the 20th of december.

april votes dec 30-jan 2, because she has just started work in august and will not be in any regular work status by then.  she didn't want to risk.

but the moment i realized that i'd be leaving my parents alone to spend new year.. it pained me a bit.  i wanted to at least be there with them when they sing their hearts out, honk the car, or light the firecrackers.

at lunchtime, i told them about it but contrary to what i felt, they were happy to hear that we would be spending new year out of the country.  they said they wouldn't mind.

and so it is set.. we will be flying to singapore, and probably visit malaysia for our long overdue "honeymoon ." :-)

weight loss

it was tremendous pressure for me to lose weight before the big day.

followed a diet,  cut down on rice, soda and sweets, oatmeal and black coffee forever.. wheat crackers and tuna for lunch.. did some hiphop dance, availed slimming services.  i even asked my sister go give me a slimming belt for christmas!!!! :-)

we had three(3) e-sessions, all of which were covered by joy sale.  and as she was post-processing the photos during this time, she noticed the weight change over the months.  Oh thank God, all of this paid off.

I just saw Joy a few days ago, and she said i was able to maintain it.
i love it i love it i love it!!!

if i were to pick a favorite from all the photos that were shot during the wedding.. this would be it.

it may not be the most popular choice for most but for me, it shows how oliver and i can just laugh at anything together..

and if this is a sneak peek of how we are going to live our married life, then i'm all for it!

 

hot pink wedding shoes

2 days before the wedding day, i was out with my groom and maid of honor looking for a pair of wedding shoes.

i was torn between choosing the traditional off-white bridal shoes, or some colored ones.  or i could opt for both.

time was an essential element because i desperately needed to find a pair that night to practice wearing with the gown (which i picked up the day before the wedding..whew).

And when we thought the groom was passive in our choice for shoes... it was actually his idea that i wear these hot pink ones. ;-)

i wish we had foregone the dove release :D

i don't know what kind of childhood i had, if i ever had any bad encounter with birds because for some weird reason, i am afraid of anything that has "tuka".. and that was my main concern when i realized that we were going to do a dove release.

i wanted to wear gloves just to get it over with but it would definitely change my whole wedding look.. and i just might not be able to forgive myself if i do that.. and i'd hate the birds even more if it even came to that point.

it was a torture for me to even just look at the birds without touching them.  oliver held on to both doves prior the release.

but for photo purposes, i just pretended that i did my part. :D

teeny weeny wedding details 060610

3 and a half months had passed and i still can't get over the high of getting married.  as i look at the photos of the wedding and all its details, i could still recall how i felt different kinds of feelings all at the same time....  happy, tired, scared, restless, stressed, excited.  but more than that, i could still feel how blessed and lucky to have the best maid of honor who didn't just go through the whole wedding planning with me, but who actually got her hands dirty to get the job done.

and despite what she's going through right now, she still supports me by sending me the link of all the wedding details for a wedding feature by bridalbook.
